The 7Gen Summer Internship is an exciting new partnership between Sicangu Nation Employment & Training (SNETP) and REDCO. The paid internship is open to local young people (ages 16-24) who are interested in identifying and developing their strengths, learning about economic and community development work on Rosebud, and advocating for change through leading a community-based project. It will focus on foundational skills, such as communication, project management, financial literacy, and social-emotional intelligence, while also teaching 7Gen concepts, including:   

• Food sovereignty  

• Lakota health & wellness  

• Lakota language  

• Civic engagement  

• Design thinking

By participating in this internship you will: 

• Identify and build on your strengths   

• Learn how Sicangu Co is creating a better world for future generations   

• Shadow professionals in their fields, gaining “behind-the-scenes” and hands-on experience  

• Learn social-emotional skills that will help you manage the relationship with yourself and others   

• Improve your communication, teamwork, and leadership skills   

• Participate in a 3-day horse handling camp, in partnership with Tiwahe Glu Kini Pi  

• Become civically engaged   

• Challenge yourself in new ways
